Marriage License Requirements

In Imus, Cavite Municipality, below are the needed requirements before you can apply for a Marriage License.

1. CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) – Php 200 per couple and 148 per head if I am not mistaken. Better prepare P500 for this so as not to be short. You will still have a change on this. It is released three weeks after the application has been submitted and its validity is six months. It is safe to apply four months before the wedding since this document also expires like the married license so as not to repeat the same scenario all over again.

2. POMCOM Seminar – Conducted at the POPCOM Office every Wednesday 8AM-12PM. They issue a certificate that certifies the couple has under gone the seminar.

3. Barangay Clearance – amount depends on the location of your Barangay. There are Barangays who ask for Resident Certificate from the President of your home owner if you are residing in a subdivision so better check on this.

4. Birth Certificate – a photocopy and need not NSO certified.

5. Prepare P195 per head or P390 per couple to pay for the Marriage Licence. It is usually being issued two weeks after the application form has been paid and necessary documents has been submitted.

6. Fully filled up Marriage License Application Form

Note that Marriage License’s validity is less than five months. It is safe to apply for a marriage license when the date of the wedding is three months before, so that it will not expire and will not redo the same scenario all over again.

Above mentioned requirements are recent data that I have gathered based on our experiences. These are just heads up for those planning to get their requirements. It is still safe to check it personally so to check the changes that may not be included in the above. :)
